Whether it's a few moments of slow breathing to hit reset on your nervous system or a meditation in bed to let go of stress, yoga can be a pathway to higher quality rest. Quality sleep helps support not only our mental clarity, but also our immune system, gut microbiome and cardiovascular health…the list goes on. If your employees are feeling the effects of poor sleep, share the tips below to help them rest well with yoga!
Notice how you feel by the end of the day and choose the one below that feels the most similar. Try my movement or mindfulness tip and see if it helps! Remember that using these techniques daily is what will help you truly see if your sleep improves.

Zoned out and scrolling?
Pick up a journal instead. Write 3 things that went really well today. Take a few breaths and feel appreciative for those moments. From this space of gratitude, choose what will be the next best step towards rest. -
Still reeling about the day?
Let go with breath. Lay down in bed, get all of the wiggles out and close your eyes. Place one hand on your heart and one on your abdomen. Feel your breath moving your torso. Try to slow it down, matching the rise and fall to each other. After 10 rounds, either stay with it, continue your bedtime routine...or maybe you've already fallen asleep :) -
Lots of energy left?
Slow down with a stretch...or five. Choose one stretch that feels really helpful - maybe neck circles or Cat & Cow. Move slow with intention, staying in the stretch a little longer to really soak it up (if that makes sense for your body). Try other stretches, if needed, with the purpose of unwinding and relaxing.
You can also book my Improving Sleep with Movement + Mindfulness workshop for a live Zoom experience where I share a little sleep science and guide them through techniques that they can use that night to help unwind and sleep through the night!
