Welcome in to "how to sell your employee wellness program to your team", or really just convince them to take advantage of it. I'm Tiffany, Lord corporate, wellness, coach and founder of Love and Asana, and I've got 3 quick, actionable tips for those of you who want to boost participation in your wellness program. This is assuming that you've already done the legwork upfront to really understand what your team wants and now you're actually giving them that.
So here are my 3 tips.
Be specific. Make the connection and personalize it.
So be specific with the description of whatever you're offering, so that they know exactly what to expect, and they can opt in, or they can opt out. Because, remember, it's better to have people coming into the offering, who know that they want to be there versus people coming in, thinking it's 1 thing getting there and then being disappointed because it's not what they were expecting.
Make the connection. Let's talk up their struggles so they can correlate those with how beneficial it would be to use the wellness offering. So, working on a big project and not sleeping well, join our weekly meditations to help regulate your nervous system so you can unwind easier before bed. Tension in your neck and shoulders again? Join our Yoga session to relax and learn a few stretches. You can do for neck and shoulders right in your chair. So just things like that that really help employees make a connection between what are their struggles and what's the benefit that this is providing.
Now let's personalize things. Let's make the invites more personal. So once you've done that big email blast telling everyone about it, and you sent out the calendar invites. You're going to use personal invitations and reminders. So find a few employees who really love the offering and have them invite a colleague to take advantage of it. They could say something like, you know, last week I was so stressed from the big layoff announcement and our meditation session really helped me get a moment of relief. You should join me this week. Right? Or leaders can invite their team, you know, I I think this could be a great way to work on our self care before starting that next project, or this will just be a nice break from our project today. You could also have someone reach out to that person at work who really needs support but they haven't actually taken any action towards that support, yet. You know you've shared how stressed out you've been the past few weeks, or how how stressed you've felt the past few weeks. You want to join that relaxation session with me today? I find it really helpful.
So take these run with them, or maybe just allow them to spark more ideas for really getting your employee wellness program off the ground and selling it to your team so that they attend.
Thank you so much for supporting your employees with whatever amazing wellness program you have in place, it does make a difference. It absolutely does. And even if you're "only" seeing a few people attending know that they appreciate the work that you're doing.
If you want help with your wellness program, or you have questions about anything that we went over today, or you need some ideas, need some support, feel free to reach out to me at love, and asana@gmail.com. I would truly love to chat with you!
